Business Intelligence & Reporting System
Large, Midwestern Property & Casualty
Data Warehouse and Reporting System
A national provider of property and casualty insurance was struggling with reporting inaccuracies and overall data integrity problems due to their numerous source systems, including a legacy mainframe. Under a tight time frame, the client made the decision to build and deploy a new internal business intelligence system to better suit the organization’s growing needs.
After an extensive search process, Celeritas was selected from over 14 potential vendors, including several 3rd party “packaged” solution providers. Celeritas quickly assembled a project team of business sponsors, client-side IT staff and our own consultants to begin assessing the project’s business and technical challenges. We then formed a project plan capable of supporting the client’s aggressive deployment schedule.
Taking into consideration the customers request for a system with extensibility, maintainability, and stability, as well as their complex data migration needs and unique reporting requirements, Celeritas chose to implement a suite of Microsoft tools and technologies, including: .NET frameworks, SQL Server 2008, SharePoint 2010 with Performance Point dashboards for executive reporting, and Excel 2010.
Celeritas gathered business requirements, developed an enterprise technical design, built, tested, and successfully deployed the client’s enterprise reporting system within the desired timeframe while mentoring the client’s staff along the way.
The new system created an entire new set of views into data across the customer’s entire enterprise, and also empowered company users with enhanced reporting capabilities via new data visualization features in Excel 2010. Finally, an entirely new Business Intelligence team was formed, consisting of internal employee’s on the client’s business side tasked with mining the company’s data for valuable information.
